- Morning First Urine
A culture that is reported as no growth in 24 or 48 hours or less than 10,000 CFU/ml usually indicates that there is no infection. This may be due to antibiotics taken by patients or presence of anaerobic bacteria . Some aerobic bacteria are also not able to grow on routine culture media. Besides contamination while taking the sample also can cause false results. Need to submit first morning mid stream urine.
